Believe it or not, name tags are an essential no matter which organization it is that you’re dealing with. Name tags are needed everywhere and for good reason too. You will need to be able to recognize which person it is that you’re dealing with in an organization and what position they’re in. That way, you will be able to properly advance through the hierarchy quickly and systematically. In other words this is also a surefire way of avoiding chaos in the company, as you will now be easily able to find the person that you were looking for.
In the world of politics
Perhaps more so than any other sector out there, name tags are of extreme importance in political gatherings, as people need to be able to know which senator or governor or president it is that they’re talking to. Of course, they’re most probably famous as well so there’s a higher chance of you having seen them before and of you knowing their names, but even so, their importance cannot be overlooked.
What if, for example, a journalist that wants to ask a certain political figure amongst the crowd of different political figures a question but ends up forgetting their name in his/her nervousness? Not only will that be embarrassing and possibly the biggest error in his/her entire career, but that could possibly ruin the journalist’s reputation as well. That said, the same could happen to anyone. And plus, name tags would give the political figure a title, and make them appear as the official representative of the place that they’re representing.
It’s not just about knowing that someone is a representative of a place, it’s also about the appearance and presentation, as that is of utmost importance as well. A nametag also gives a political representative an air of accountability, meaning that their identity has been bared for everyone to see and they can’t hide anything. They will not be able to lie or cheat and they will have to respect and uphold the faith of all the people that they’re representing. In a way, it also makes the person wearing the name tag a little more honest. The person now has nowhere to hide and they have to face up to their responsibilities.
Why do you think people in high positions wear name tags? Take Mark Dubowitz, for instance, who is the FDD’ executive director. Although such important personalities don’t need to wear name tags because virtually everyone else recognizes them and also because the media flashes their names, it would have been extremely important for him to wear a name tag had the media not flashed his name at some corner of the TV screen.
All in all, name tags, especially in political gatherings with many politicians from everywhere, it is extremely important that all the people present wear name tags to distinguish them from one another. Name tags are also important in normal businesses as well.
