Tags for Your Photos

April 19, 2017 by Quality

Nobody would want to take classic photos or videos and then have someone else take the credit for them. That is why it is important to tag them and also patent them so that their source will always be traced back to you. It does not matter whether the photos were taken in the air, on land or under the water, the fact of the matter is that you’re the one that took them, and you deserve the credit.

In order to take great photos that you’ll be proud to tag, it is important to make sure that you use the right camera’s and equipment suited for the situation. In this article, we are going to look at cameras and accessories for taking photos underwater. We will start with some cameras followed by some cases.

GoPro HERO5 Black

The GoPro HERO5 Black is the most powerful camera yet. It comes with a 12MP image sensor and captures UHD 4K resolution videos (3840 x 2160) at real-time 30/25 fps and cinematic 24 fps. It can record 2.7K, Full HD 1080p, and other resolutions. In 1080p, the frame rate can be set up to 120 fps, allowing for slow-motion playback. The 12MP camera offers burst rates of up to 30 fps. However, it’s the combination of this capture capability with a collection of sophisticated, new features that makes the HERO5 Black a very special action camera. The camera is:

  • Waterproof
  • Capable of capturing raw still images
  • Comes with a feature that offers a Linear Field of View
  • Comes with Protune, a mode through which one can select to access a store of features and manual settings that will ultimately let one perform more advanced post-production. For example, images shot in Protune mode can be color-corrected in greater detail than otherwise.
  • It offers internal video stabilization

GoPro HERO5 Session

The HERO5 Session is the “little brother” to the HERO5 Black because it incorporates some of the new features of the HERO5 Black, like video stabilization and raw audio although it has a smaller sensor and less frame rates to choose from. It records 4K videos at 30 fps, but because it has a smaller, 10MP sensor, there will be a difference in low-light sensitivity, video noise, and slightly in depth of field. The HERO5 Session is for the professionally oriented and waterproof to 33′ without a housing, but doesn’t support a dive housing.

Features

  • 10MP sensor
  • 4K video at 30/25 fps
  • 7K at 48/30/25/24 fps
  • 1080p at up to 90 fps (slow-motion)
  • 720p at up to 120 fps (slow-motion)
  • 10MP still images with up to 30 fps burst rate
  • Built-in mic
  • External mic support via optional adapter
  • 33′ waterproof without a housing
  • Voice control
  • Video stabilization
  • Linear FOV (removes fish-eye distortion)
  • Protune mode with raw audio, white balance, color, ISO limit, sharpness, shutter, and exposure value compensation
  • Auto-upload to GoPro cloud

GoPro HERO4 Black

Take the HERO5 Black, subtract all the special new features, and an LCD, and you’ve basically got yourself the HERO4 Black (which isn’t black, by the way). Not too long ago, the HERO4 Black was the cream of the crop of GoPro. As far as image quality, it’s right up there with the HERO5 Black. It has the same sensor size, same recording resolutions and frame rates, and all of the same Protune features except for the new raw audio feature. So, the HERO4 Black is still the professional’s choice, but without all the extra features.

Features

  • 12MP sensor
  • 4K video at 30/25/24 fps
  • 7K at 60/50/48/30/25/24 fps
  • 1080p at up to 120 fps
  • 720p at up to 240 fps
  • 12MP still images with up to 30 fps burst rate
  • Built-in mic
  • External mic support via optional 3.5mm mic adapter
  • 131′ waterproof with included housing
  • Linear FOV (removes fish-eye distortion)
  • Protune with white balance, color, ISO limit, sharpness, shutter, and exposure value compensation
